"One of our main Leadership Principles is "Doing the Right Thing" and I think that investing in employee's happiness can only ever be the right thing to do."
Meet Jake! People Operations Associate at Zapp. He shared with us how Juno is helping the Zapp team find positivity in the workplace in small but significant ways.
Team leaders like Jake are an essential part of the workplace. Our #JunoChampions series recognises and celebrates their efforts in bringing more balance at work and flexible lifestyle benefits.
Here's what he shared with the community:
Why do you love your role at Zapp?
One thing I love about my role at Zapp is the support I get from my team. It can be quite difficult working in such a fast-paced environment sometimes, but being part of such a kind and welcoming department really takes some of the weight off my shoulders. We all do what we can to help each other out in tough situations and I never feel like I'm going it alone.
What's the motivation behind your job role?
I enjoy doing what I can to make people's life at Zapp as enjoyable as it can be, from onboarding all the way through. Knowing that something I've come up with, or helped implement, can make people happy is what makes me happy.
What is it about Juno that aligns with your organisation values?
One of our main Leadership Principles is "Doing the Right Thing" and I think that investing in employee's happiness can only ever be the right thing to do. The options that Juno provide, whilst maybe not life-changing, really can do a lot to brighten someone's day and spread some positivity around- which is something Zapp really encourages.
Do you have any personal experiences that you could share with us that led you to where you are now?
I've previously worked in an environment that seemed to care very little about the employee's welfare. Having my suggestions on how to improve employee experience get shot down was difficult in the short-term, but it really helped me realise what drives me in my work and now I'm glad that I can have a positive impact here!
Thanks to Jake for sharing and for taking care of the Zapp team with Juno!
